This cat was trapped by someone in this neighborhood on or about October 15, 2001 and not taken to either of the local animal control agencies as the law requires.
Navel is an orange tabby, (now in 2006) 8 years old, altered and has had to have his tail amputated. The vet had suggested that it might have gotten its tail caught in a trap. A neighbor reports that this cat had been trapped by our next door neighbor and taken to an unspecified place for adoption where it was said that "he would be adopted quickly because he had been neutered". The suspicion is that the cat was simply dumped somewhere away from here, possibly along the American River bike trail where it would be in danger of attack from coyotes.
I am offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Pat Allard of 8520 Erinbrook Way, Sacramento, Ca 95826 for illegal trapping and disposal of Navel and an additional $5000 for the arrest and and conviction of Pat Allard and Mary Asbury of 8523 Erinbrook Way, Sacramento, CA 95826 and the daughter of Pat Allard (aka Lisa Allard residing at 8516 Erinbrook Way) for felony conspiracy to commit the aforementioned crime.
We have reason to believe that this cat was held for a period of time at 8520 Erinbrook Way and may only recently (2001) been turned over for adoption or disposal.
If you have any information regarding Navel, please contact me at 1 (800) 331-4728 or (916) 383-5341.
UPDATE: Six years have gone by. I have been denied the comfort of Navel all of this time and we have both grown older, yet these two scumbags still walk the neighborhood, smiling and acting as though nothing will ever happen to them because no one has come forward to testify against them.
